YOUR MENU: Pumpkin Spice Pecan Sticky Buns INGREDIENTS YOU'LL NEED: For the Dough: 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour ¼ cup granulated sugar 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoon) active dry yeast ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup whole milk ¼ cup unsalted butter ½ cup canned pumpkin puree 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For the Filling: ½ cup granulated sugar ½ cup packed light brown sugar 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg ¼ teaspoon ground cloves ¼ teaspoon ground ginger ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted For the Sticky Pecan Topping: ½ cup unsalted butter 1 cup packed light brown sugar ¼ cup pure maple syrup ¼ cup heavy cream 1 ½ cups pecan halves EQUIPMENT YOU'LL NEED: oven preheated to 170°F large mixing bowl: for combining the dry and wet ingredients and kneading the dough. small saucepan: to heat the milk and melt the butter for the dough. measuring cups and spoons: for accurate measurement of ingredients. kitchen towel or plastic wrap: to cover the dough while it rises. baking dish: a 9x13-inch greased baking dish for baking the buns. small saucepan: to prepare the sticky pecan topping. whisk: for stirring and mixing the topping ingredients. rolling pin: to roll out the dough into a rectangle. pastry brush: for brushing the melted butter on the dough. sharp knife: for cutting the rolled dough into individual buns. oven mitts or pot holders: for safely handling the hot baking dish. serving platter: for inverting the buns onto before serving. optional: stand mixer mixer: while not necessary, a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment can make the dough preparation easier.
